Competing in the never-ending race for customers, the Cezars Sport company (Fila's official distributor in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) has presented the internationally recognized sporting company's "Spring-Summer 2001" collection, soon to appear in Russia's sports stores.

One of world's leading suppliers of sporting clothes, Fila began making tennis wear in 1981 and quickly made a name for itself, signing a lucrative contract to supply clothes for the WTC (World Tennis Championship).

As athletes today have become more popular than ever before, their ability to influence consumers has not been overlooked by businesses. Fila, waging an intense battle with other sport clothing companies such as Nike, Adidas and Reebok for the right to clothe the most popular athletes in the world, has made some progress in this sphere, signing contracts with the likes of NBA stars Kevin Johnson, Mashburn Webber and Grant Hill.

The Spring — Summer 2001 collection emphasises plain and loose clothes. Interestingly, laces are still "in" as a styling and decorating element. The company has limited its use of fabrics to cotton, polyester and their combinations. ‘Italian Terry'(100 percent cotton), ‘Much' (50 percent cotton, 50 percent acrylic) and ‘Techno Pique' (100 percent polyester) all seem poised to be fashionable next year. Despite the prevalence of white, blue, various tinges of brown, black, red, light-green and light-blue are still the colors of choice.

Menswear is represented by the ‘Workout,' ‘Fashion,' ‘Beachwear,' ‘Swimming,' ‘Sailing' and ‘Tennis' ranges.

‘Workout' is a complete set, suitable for sports or everyday activities such as grocery shopping and barbecuing. The collection features ‘shrink and stretch' resistant trousers, which are designed to keep their original shape after lengthy use and multiple washings. In typical American fashion, the T-shirts bear humorous inscriptions while the shorts are decorated with fancy pockets. Beige shoulder bags of artificial leather are prevalent among the accessories.

The ‘Fashion' set reflects modern trends and is designed for men who keep track of fashion and love high quality. The set is made from lightweight, air- and water-tight fabric.

The ‘Beachwear' set (featuring bright colored items) is designed to satisfy all conceivable needs related to swimming and sunbathing.

The women's ranges — ‘Workout,' ‘Fashion' and ‘Everyday' comprise perfectly matching items that can be effectively used in numerous combinations and variants.

‘Fashion Workout' is for young women who love sports style clothing with a feminine tinge. The dark-blue, full zip kangaroo jacket made of ‘Much' or dark-blue hooded T-shirt of light stretch jersey, in combination with light-colored trousers of ‘Much' will look fine even on a not-very-sporty figure. ‘Fashion' and ‘Everyday' are different in the degree of brightness, however ‘Everyday' items are more comfortable, as they should be.
