Beauty salon feast
Combining beauty salons and restaurants seems to be the latest craze in Moscow. The Inochi Grand beauty salon is the latest of the bunch, opening up an adjoining cafe. This is a small venue with just two rooms - a charcoal-black one and a rosy one.
Red restaurant
The Krasny (Red) Chinese restaurant opened in mid-April in the building that used to house the Tamerlane Mongolian restaurant. Krasny features Chinese cooks who adapt Chinese food to the Russian palate. The extensive wine list has been padded with Chinese wine, beer and two types of sake.
More duck ideas
A new menu has been introduced at Pekinskaya Utka (Peking Duck). It includes a number of steamed delicacies, such as shrimp-stuffed patties, fried ribs, fried pineapple and bananas in caramel sauce.
Cafe expansion
The Shokoladnista chain of coffeehouses is continuing its rapid expansion with the addition of two more outlets since the beginning of May, one on Myasnitskaya Ul. and another on Kutuzovsky Prospekt. The new cafes are carbon copies of the chain's other branches with a choice of coffees and teas, takeout service, cakes and sweets.
