Even as you cross the threshold of Neo entertainment center on Varshavskoye Shosse, you'll start to realize that a club like this simply could not have been opened anywhere downtown - because it would be impossible to find a space big enough. One thousand, five hundred sq. meters of floor space! So it goes without saying that finding Neo is no problem at all. It occupies a three-story building right on Varshavskoye Shosse, not far from the Trud Stadium, and is always brightly illuminated at night.

Neo has a huge dance floor on two levels, three chillout rooms and three spacious bars. And it also has a European tavern, Tartuga, on the first floor, with a menu that has a surprisingly noticeable bent toward Caucasian cuisine. The food is unpretentious but tasty, and the wines are good, too.

Neo's designers have paid homage to all the modern trends of Moscow club life. First, its style is a combination of high-tech with ethnic motifs: metallic ceiling, silhouettes of ancient gods on the walls, animal skins on the door of one of the chillout rooms, large and cozy couches inside. Other walls inside the club feature space photos that look 3D in the UV light. The club is three stories, and its architecture is such that from the bar located on the top balcony you can see everything going on below. Neo also features another Moscow staple: VIP rooms. The "Eastern" room has Japanese-style upholstered walls and a pole for stripteases in the center. Meanwhile, in the basement there is a Chinese tearoom decorated with small black couches, voluptuous girls, hookahs and mate tea.

Although the club only opened in September, a certain kind of a crowd has already formed and it gets pretty busy in the evenings. The club already has quite a few regulars, and the hosts do their best to please them - famous Mexican band Tito & Tarantula was even invited for the club's launch party.

European house stars are regular guests at Neo. The dance floor thumps to club-style electronic music, with a focus on house and trance. The club has hosted a performance by German DJ Terry Lee Brown Jr., and Tom Wax is expected this week , and it hosts costume and drag shows and concerts from jazz to blues, rock and pop. Neo is a cool place - if you're in the neighborhood. As for me, it's a bit far out of the center, but I'll definitely go there once in a while, especially when they bring some good performers in.
