Gold’s Gym

They have discounts of 10 to 15 percent for couples all year round, but prices are not given over the phone. The list of amenities is large and covers everything from Yoga to martial arts to nutrition counseling.

Fit & Fun

There are discounts for married couples all year round at this elite gym; the first person’s membership costs $2400, and then there’s 30 percent off the membership price for the second person. Further discounts are negotiable. Classes include Pilates, step, dance and Tai chi.

Golden Ring

A one-month pass for each person in a "family" costs $100, whereas it would cost $150 to buy the tickets individually. A one-year family ticket costs $900 per person and it would cost $1200 to buy tickets individually. There is no need to show ID to prove you are family members. Access to sun beds and massage is available at extra cost.

Panatta Sport

Pairs buying six-month cards get 20 percent off on the second card. Cards cost $520 before discount and allow access to the gym and all aerobics classes. The discount for the second person goes up to 25 percent for an annual card, which costs $730 before discount.

Petrovka Sport

Spring discounts apply if you buy club cards Feb. 14 (Valentine’s Day), Feb. 23 (Defenders of the Fatherland Day) or March 8 (International Women’s Day). Couples that buy cards on these dates get $500 put on their card to spend on site, for example at the bar and on massages, plus a selection of gifts from the beauty salon.

A one-year pass for two costs $4000, whereas it would usually cost $2400 per person to buy the passes individually. Individuals are also eligible for the $500 bonus on the above three days.

A membership card allows you to use all four training rooms, aerobics, weights, spinning and cardio. They have a choice of 20 types of activities in the aerobics room, ranging from dance and Yoga to Tai chi. They also have a kids’ club on site where children from two to six years old can learn English.

Planet Fitness, Beach Club

They have discounts from Feb. 18 to celebrate the fifth birthday of Planet Fitness. For a limited number of groups of two, the second person in a pair will get their membership free. If this sounds too good to be true, then please note that the cost of membership for the first person won’t be known until about Feb. 18.

Planet Fitness, Golden Keys

The second card will be free here too from Feb. 18 for a limited number of couples (ah, how romantic!). There are nine Planet Fitness clubs in Moscow and prices and discounts differ from one to the other. They have around 50 different kinds of membership cards at this club, and the average price is around $800 per person. A card allowing free access costs $950 per person.

They have a swimming pool with aqua aerobics, and also, among other things, offer classes in Latin dance, belly dancing, Yoga and karate.

Sport Line

They have discounts for pairs for the whole of February. An annual club card now costs $1,620 for each person in a pair, instead of the usual $1,800 per person in a pair. Classes on offer include jazz, hip-hop, flamenco, belly dancing, karate and kickboxing. They also have a swimming pool with aqua aerobics classes, a Finnish sauna and a Turkish sauna.

World Class, Prospekt Vernadskogo

Until Feb. 20, an annual membership costs $1,350 per person in a man-woman couple, instead of the $1,550 it usually costs per partner. As part of the promotion, couples will also get one month extra free.

Club facilities include two floors of training rooms, a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, Finnish sauna and two aerobics rooms. All seven World Class clubs have different prices, discounts and facilities.

World Class, Nametkina Ul.

This VIP club only opens at the end of March, but club cards are being sold at a discount prior to opening; for the moment, 13-month club cards cost $1400 each for pairs, $1350 each for groups of three people, and $1300 each for groups of four or five.

After opening, membership will cost around $2150 per person in a pair, and around $4300 for individuals. The club will have a 25-meter swimming pool with aqua aerobics classes, a cardio theater, group classes – on aerobics and Tai chi among many others – a Turkish bath and a Finnish bath. •
