While your business may close during the May holidays, restaurants will still be open. What better way to spend a few lazy hours than enjoying a tasty, well-priced lunch knowing that you dont need to scarf everything down and get back to work. Check out the list below and take some time to enjoy a leisurely business lunch on a weekday this holiday.
1. Check Point
Check Point is famous for its Madagascan chef Andreus Ramilison and his simple yet unique style of cooking. You can choose from an array of tasty appetizers, salads, soups and main courses. We recommend the specialty of the house: smoked salmon. Business lunch is served on weekdays, from noon to 5 p.m. and costs approximately 120-200 rubles.
2. Gulden
Gulden is a gastronomic gem. Its business lunch menu is so big it could be an entire menu. For 250 rubles, from noon to 4 p.m., you can choose from a variety of delicious Flemish and French food including salads, starters and pancakes. Plus, theres always a huge assortment of fish and meat dishes, soups, smoked delicacies and drinks including beer.
3. Mekhana Bansko
Mekhana Bansko is one of the most hospitable restaurants in Moscow, and the only true Bulgarian one. The interior is also conducive to lunchtime relaxation. Their business lunch is served from noon to 4 p.m. and the menu changes every week, but the prices are consistent: 250 rubles for a salad, soup, main course and drink. You can pay an extra 50 rubles for a scrumptious dessert or a glass of authentic Bulgarian homemade wine.
4. Gin-No Taki
If you want someplace in the very center of Moscow then Gin-No Taki on Tverskaya Ul. is one of the finest eateries around. With most Japanese food being very expensive, Gin-No Taki is unusual in that it offers good quality and charges reasonable prices. They serve four types of hearty business lunch with sushi, salads, soups, desserts and green tea from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for only 300 rubles.
5. Guroo
Professional lunchers revel in Guroos light salads, rice and delicious butter chicken. The menu features the best that India has to offer, all carefully cooked and presented to appeal to the European as well as the Asian palate. Business lunch is served from noon to 4 p.m. for 220 rubles.
6. Krasny restaurant
With an emphasis on truly authentic Oriental fare the Krasny restaurant might not suit everyones taste, but if you appreciate fine sushi, Mongolian lamb soup or soft cheese, this is the place for you. From noon to 4 p.m. Krasny offers three varieties of business lunch: Japanese for $6, Mongolian for $9 and Chinese for $10.
7. Oblomov
Oblomov keeps receiving heaps of praise from both the influential food press and its guests. Meat is what this restaurant is famous for, which is why there are no fish alternatives available on the business lunch menu. For $10 you can have cucumber salad, traditional Russian cabbage soup, a main course and a fruit drink.
8. Kolbasoff
The newly born Kolbasoff always seems to be busy. They offer three types of business lunch from noon to 4 p.m.: $5.50 for soup and salad; $7.50 for a salad and main course; or $9 for a salad, soup, main course and a dessert of tea, juice or ice cream. The combination of Spanish, Italian, Russian and German cuisine and the sparse modern interior encourage interesting debate, and make it an ideal place to entertain your colleagues or friends.
9. Jagannath
At Jagannath youll feel quite at home amid the other vegetarians. Relaxed and informal, it offers a fine selection of Indian, Mexican, Vietnamese, Japanese and Chinese food in lovely surroundings. For 140 rubles, from noon to 3 p.m., you can have a salad, soup, main course and tea; for 300 rubles, from noon to 6 p.m., you can have more unusual dishes from the main menu, plus a traditional Oriental dessert.
10. Tunnel
Tunnel attracts many serious businesspeople who feel addicted to the five lunches available between noon and 4 p.m. It costs $4 for a Russian business lunch, (salad, soup, main course and a fruit drink); $5 for a Chinese business lunch (salad, main course, rice and tea); $6 for a European business lunch; $7 for an American lunch (salad, smoked veal hamburger and tea or coffee); and $8 for a Japanese lunch.
